ILG Sr. Associate Named to AILA Leadership Position

Immigration Law Group LLP (ILG) is proud to announce that one of our attorneys, Shannon Reed, has been elected Chairperson of the Santa Clara Valley chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) for 2023-2024. Shannon is a Sr. Associate Attorney at ILG, having originally joined the firm in 2013 as a legal writer.  Shannon has also previously served in the position of Treasurer for the Santa Clara Valley chapter of AILA.

AILA, founded in 1946, is the national bar association of attorneys and law professors who practice and teach immigration law. It is a nonpartisan, not-for-profit, voluntary bar association that provides continuing legal education, professional services, information, and expertise to more than 16,000 members through 39 chapters and over 50 national committees. The Santa Clara Valley chapter of AILA represents over 300 immigration lawyers in Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, San Benito, and Monterey counties. 

As Chair of the Santa Clara Valley chapter of AILA, Shannon also serves as a member of AILA's national Board of Governors where she helps determine the policies of the Association, among other duties. Shannon will represent ILG and the Santa Clara Valley chapter at AILA’s 2024 Midwinter Conference in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, this coming January.

Coincidentally, one of ILG’s founding partners, Gloria K. Lin, held this position from 2001-2002, so Shannon is continuing a legacy of service in the firm through her new appointment. ILG congratulates Shannon on this remarkable achievement, and we are excited to witness her future contributions to AILA and the field of immigration law.
